Terms of Service

These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your access to and use of Sayoko — including the website at sayoko.app, related chat features, Memory content, and the Sayoko Discord application (together, the “Service”). The Service is operated by InferTheta (“we,” “us,” or “our”).

By accessing or using the Service in any way — including chatting on the website, installing or authorizing the Discord app, or creating an account — you accept and agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

1. What Sayoko is

Sayoko is a gaming companion and assistant. Features may include Discord DMs and commands, web chat, game tips and guides, recommendations or introductions between users when you choose to use those features, and community Memory pages (guides, drafts, and related content). Features may change, improve, or be discontinued over time.

2. Eligibility

You must be able to form a binding contract where you live, and you must meet Discord’s minimum age (and any higher age required by your country) if you use the Discord app. If you use the Service on behalf of someone else, you confirm you have authority to accept these Terms for them.

3. Accounts and Discord

Some features require signing in (for example with Discord or other auth we offer) or authorizing the Sayoko Discord application. You are responsible for activity under your account and for keeping access to your Discord account secure. Discord’s own terms and policies also apply when you use Discord.

4. Acceptable use

You agree not to use the Service to:

• Break the law, or help others break the law
• Harass, threaten, exploit, or harm others (including minors)
• Spam, scam, phish, or distribute malware
• Attempt unauthorized access to the Service, other users’ data, or related systems
• Abuse, overload, or reverse engineer the Service except where law allows
• Upload or share content you do not have the right to share
• Use the Service in a way that violates Discord’s or other platforms’ rules

We may refuse, limit, or terminate access when we reasonably believe these Terms or others’ safety are at risk.

5. Your content

You keep ownership of content you submit (messages, images, Memory proposals, profile info, and similar). You grant us a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free license to host, store, process, display, and use that content as needed to operate, improve, moderate, and provide the Service — including generating AI replies and reviewing community submissions.

You are responsible for your content. Do not submit anything illegal, infringing, or that you are not allowed to share. Community Memory contributions may be edited, published, rejected, or removed by us or moderators.

6. AI and information quality

Sayoko uses automated systems (including large language models and search or video tools) to answer questions and suggest actions. Outputs can be wrong, incomplete, outdated, or unsuitable for your situation. Game tips are not a substitute for your own judgment. Do not rely on the Service for medical, legal, financial, or other professional advice.

7. Games and third-party rights

Game names, characters, artwork, and trademarks belong to their respective owners. Sayoko is an independent fan companion and is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by those owners unless we say otherwise. Third-party services (for example Discord, hosting, AI providers, search, or authentication) have their own terms; we are not responsible for those services.

8. Intellectual property

The Service — including Sayoko branding, software, and original site materials — is owned by InferTheta or its licensors. These Terms do not give you ownership of the Service. You may not copy, scrape at scale, or resell the Service without our written permission, except for ordinary personal use.

9. Privacy

How we handle personal data is described in our Privacy Policy. By using the Service, you acknowledge that policy.

10. Availability and changes

We aim for a reliable experience but do not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free service. We may modify, suspend, or discontinue features. We may update these Terms by posting a new version on this page with an updated date. Continued use after changes means you accept the updated Terms, except where local law requires a different process.

11. Disclaimers

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED “AS IS” AND “AS AVAILABLE,” WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, WHETHER EXPRESS, IMPLIED, OR STATUTORY, INCLUDING MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT.

12. Limitation of liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, INFERTHETA AND ITS OPERATORS WILL NOT BE LIABLE FOR INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR FOR LOST PROFITS, DATA, OR GOODWILL, ARISING FROM YOUR USE OF THE SERVICE. OUR TOTAL LIABILITY FOR ANY CLAIM RELATED TO THE SERVICE IS LIMITED TO THE GREATER OF (A) THE AMOUNT YOU PAID US FOR THE SERVICE IN THE TWELVE MONTHS BEFORE THE CLAIM, OR (B) FIFTY EUROS (€50). SOME PLACES DO NOT ALLOW CERTAIN LIMITATIONS; IN THOSE PLACES, OUR LIABILITY IS LIMITED TO THE FULLEST EXTENT ALLOWED.

13. Termination

You may stop using the Service at any time and may revoke Discord authorization in Discord’s settings. We may suspend or end access if you breach these Terms or if we shut down the Service. Provisions that should survive (including licenses we need to retain for legal or operational reasons, disclaimers, and liability limits) will survive termination.

15. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of France, without regard to conflict-of-law rules, except where mandatory consumer protections in your country of residence apply and cannot be waived. Courts in France have jurisdiction, subject to those mandatory protections.
